A nutritional profile enables you to focus on a health goal utilising the results of a functional test to develop a more personalised approach to address your needs.
This test uses a saliva sample to evaluate bioactive levels of the body’s stress hormones, cortisol and DHEA, which can serve as a useful tool for uncovering biochemical imbalances which may underlie anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue, obesity and other clinical conditions.
Potential signs and symptoms that might suggest this profile is for you include menstrual problems, arthritis, allergies, low energy levels, weight management challenges, trouble sleeping and/or anxiety brought about by high stress levels.
This profile package includes a pre-test telephone consultation (15 minutes), a test to identify your stress profile and and 2 consultations (1 hour initial and 45 minute follow up) with a Food Teacher Registered Nutritional Therapist face-to-face, via Skype/Facetime or over the phone.
Pre-test Telephone Consultation
The 15-minute telephone consultation is an opportunity to check that you have selected the best profile for your signs and symptoms and discuss your health goal. The test procedure is then explained and a provisional date for the initial consultation is agreed. Your test will then be delivered, completed at home by yourself and then sent to the laboratory. You will also receive a detailed questionnaire from The Food Teacher to be completed and returned via email prior to your consultation date.
Stress Profile Test
This is a powerful and precise test that requires collection of 4 saliva samples across a 24 hour period to evaluate the bioactive levels of the body’s important stress hormones; cortisol, DHEA and additionally Secretory immunoglobulin A (SIgA). Imbalances in any of these hormones can lead to the most common of health complaints.
The results of the test will help to create a customised therapeutic programme including exercise, diet, stress reduction, and/or supplementation based on the results of the test. It will enable you to start implementing changes to your stress levels and can potentially reduce risk of depression, impaired immunity, obesity and cardiovascular disease. Retesting can be arranging at a later date.
Initial Consultation
1-hour consultation to discuss and review test results, questionnaire, medical history, eating habits and lifestyle. Agree priorities and develop a bespoke programme including food and lifestyle to address your health goal.
Follow-up Consultation
After an implementation time of 4-6 weeks a 45-minute follow-up consultation takes place to review health and progress. A revised programme is developed to support on-going change.
