A nutritional profile enables you to focus on a health goal utilising the results of a functional test to develop a more personalised approach to address your need. This is suitable for both adults and children from age 2 years and above.
This profile includes a functional test assessing key nutritional biomarkers. This is a non-invasive, client-friendly way to assess the functional need for antioxidants, B-vitamins, minerals, digestive support, fatty acids, and amino acids. Insights gained from the nutritional test allows The Food Teacher clinic to target nutritional therapies to meet your precise needs. Even if you are eating a balanced and healthy diet and taking supplements, your body could still lack vital and necessary nutrition, so this is a great overall health check.
Potential signs and symptoms related to nutritional deficiencies that might suggest this profile is for you include mood disorders (depression, anxiety, sleep disturbance), fibromyalgia, fatigue, chronic stress, inflammation, fertility, intestinal symptoms, neurodivergency and for optimised health and sports fitness.
This profile package includes a pre-test telephone consultation (15 minutes), a test to identify your personal nutritional status and 2 consultations (1 hour initial and 45 minute follow up) with a Food Teacher Registered Nutritional Therapist face-to-face, online or over the phone.
Please contact the clinic to see a full sample report.
Pre-test Telephone Consultation
The 15-minute telephone consultation is an opportunity to check that you have selected the best profile for you and discuss your health goal. The test procedure is then explained and a provisional date for the initial consultation is agreed. Your test will then be delivered, completed at home by yourself and then sent to the laboratory. You will also receive a detailed questionnaire from The Food Teacher to be completed and returned via email prior to your consultation date.
Optimal Nutritional Test
The Optimal Nutritional Test consists of three tests in one. A Metabolic Analysis measuring 39 key organic acids to evaluate gastrointestinal function, methylation, cellular energy production, neurotransmitter processing, and functional need for vitamins, minerals, and co-factors.
An Amino Acid Analysis measuring 38 amino acids to evaluate dietary protein adequacy, digestion, absorption, amino acid transport, metabolic impairments, and nutritional deficits; including essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids.
And finally, an Oxidative Stress Analysis to evaluate the body’s anti-oxidant reserves and the presence of oxidative injury.
The test requires collection of your first urine sample of the morning, which you then freeze for a minimum of 2 hours before posting to the laboratory. Full instructions are provided.
Initial Consultation
1-hour consultation to discuss and review test results, questionnaire, medical history, eating habits and lifestyle. Agree priorities and develop a bespoke programme including food and lifestyle to address your health goal.
Follow-up Consultation
After an implementation time of 4-6 weeks a 45-minute follow-up consultation takes place to review health and progress. A revised programme is developed to support on-going change.
