A nutritional profile from The Food Teacher™ Clinic enables you to focus on a specific health goal utilising the results of a functional test to develop a more personalised approach to your needs.
Many women experience hormonal imbalances, which might be associated with menopause, post cancer treatment, weight gain, fatigue, low libido, mood swings, depression and premenstrual symptoms (PMS). If these fluctuations are not addressed risk of chronic health conditions can be increased. If you have concerns about your hormonal health then consider a Female Health Profile at The Food Teacher™ Clinic. This profile was created to provide insight into many of the above concerns, working to deliver the most complete assessment of sex and adrenal hormones, along with their metabolites, in one easy to administer home urine test.
This profile package includes a pre-test telephone consultation (15 minutes), a urine sample test kit to complete at home and then post and 2 consultations (1 hour initial and 45 minute follow up) with a Food Teacher Registered Nutritional Therapist face-to-face, via Skype/Facetime or over the phone.
Pre-test Telephone Consultation
The 15-minute telephone consultation is an opportunity to check that you have selected the best profile for your signs and symptoms and to discuss your health goal. The test procedure is explained and a provisional date for the initial consultation is agreed. Your test will then be delivered to you, completed at home by yourself and then sent to the laboratory. You will also receive a detailed questionnaire from The Food Teacher to be completed and returned via email prior to your consultation date.
Hormone Test
The Food Teacher™ Clinic is a registered provider of the DUTCH test. This profile includes the ‘DUTCH COMPLETE™ test‘, which provides a comprehensive profile of sex and adrenal hormones along with their metabolites. It also includes the daily, free cortisol pattern (stress hormones), organic acids (nutrient profile), melatonin (6-OHMS) (sleep hormone), and 8-OHdG.
On receipt of the test kit clients collect four or five urine samples over a 24-hour period (instructions). These samples are then sent to the laboratory via your local UPS (https://www.ups.com/dropoff?country=GB ) drop off and your results will typically be received within a fortnight.
The test report (see sample) can then be used to review current hormone status and the development of a personalised programme to address your needs.
Initial Consultation
1-hour consultation to discuss and review test results, questionnaire, medical history, eating habits and lifestyle. Agree priorities and develop a bespoke programme including food and lifestyle strategies to address your health goal and hormone levels.
Follow-up Consultation
After an implementation time of 4-6 weeks a 45-minute follow-up consultation takes place to review health and progress. A revised programme is developed to support on-going change.
A follow-up test can also be arranged.
