//Welwyn Hatfield Young Chef 2024//Wow, what an amazing afternoon. Watching 6 fantastic 10 year old chefs recreate a menu for their chosen hero for judging. Outstanding skills, confidence, presentation and fun brought into the kitchen.The judges felt each finalist had an outstanding element to their menu. Aditi who won the awards wowed the judges specifically with her main course of paneer butter masala with rice and her mango lassi. She also made a chicken soup and kheer pudding.Judges included Ghanaian TV Chef @pattismenu , Marie Reynolds (The Food Teacher™) and Ellen Tuck (The Food Teacher™). They were all so impressed with the skills, creativity and flavours in the dishes prepared by the children. Patti expressed the challenges in choosing a winner.
The Food Teacher™ team, who organised the final have worked closely with The Rotary Club of Welwyn Garden City who have supported the event.
ALL Welwyn Hatfield Schools are invited to get involved for 2025. For further information about this award, for recipes to try at home and for information about the Younger (ages 6-7) and Youngest (ages 3+) Chef programmes visit the Young Chef link in the bio above.
