Description

Kombucha is a fermented tea that’s a rich source of probiotics that can support digestive balance for optimal health. As it’s a naturally fermented product with a living colony of bacteria and yeast it’s a rich source of probiotics. By focusing on our digestive health this can support our immunity, metabolism and absorption of nutrients.

Method

  1. In a saucepan/bowl add the ingredients and stir well to dissolve the sugar.
  2. Leave to cool and remove the tea bags.
  3. Once cool pour into a wide topped jar with the starter liquid and scoby.
  4. Cover with a kitchen towel and elastic.
  5. Leave for 7-14 days to ferment. The length of time fermenting will make the end result stronger.
  6. Strain through a sieve into a bottle and store in the fridge.
  7. This will keep in the fridge for 4 weeks.
  8. Drink some every day or open the bottle to release the gases.
  9. You can also flavour in the fridge by adding raspberries, mint, lime or ginger.
